Omar Hunter

A relatively unheralded prospect heading into the season, Hunter burst onto the scene with a breakout performance at the Herbstreit Challenge in Ohio. By that point, he was already on board with Notre Dame, but the slew of attention led to many a rumor about Hunter reconsidering his options. He has firmly reiterated his commitment to the Irish since then.
Buford, which also sent Darius Walker to South Bend, was 12-0 after beating Darlington, 41-0, in a second-round game Nov. 23. The Wolves had outscored opponents 562-52. Hunter was doing his part with 87 tackles and 7.5 sacks through 11 games. As a junior, he posted 85 tackles, 13 of those for losses. A versatile, explosive  athlete who can dunk a basketball, Hunter will likely end up at nose tackle, but he can also play defensive end. He will take part in the ESPN All-American Game January 5 in Florida.
